Wearing the BSA's official "field uniform," also known as a "Class A" uniform, is a way for cub scouts to show their pack pride and display awards and ranks they've earned. Scouts are also encouraged to wear their Class A uniforms to school on pack meeting days. Pack 993 has specific uniform requirements based on our program. Parents/guardians must purchase the required uniform and attach the emblems, badges, and patches. Brag vests or blankets are optional. An age-appropriate rank handbook is also required.
Unless your den or pack leader says otherwise, scouts should always wear the "Class A" uniform to all Cub Scouting activities—not just den and pack meetings, but every activity in which the scout takes part in with other cub scouts. The "Class A" uniform is required when traveling with a group of cub scouts. The shirt should always be tucked in and orderly. Everyone must understand the importance of representing the entire Boy Scout of America organization while in uniform.
Any award, badge, patch, award, or adventure loop scouts earn are awarded (at no cost) during the monthly pack meetings. Parents are responsible for attaching them to the scout's uniform.
